Privacy and cookies
This notice explains what personal data LCG Joinery collects when you visit this website or contact us, why we use it, how long we keep it and what your rights are under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
LCG Joinery is run by Gabor Leonard-Cosmin, a self-employed sole trader based in Calcot, Reading. He is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
For anything about your data, email lcg.joinery@yahoo.com or call 07477 060440.
What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you call, email or message us (including through Instagram or Facebook), we receive the details you give us. That is usually your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property, a description of the work and any photos you send.
- Why: to reply, arrange a consultation, prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out and invoice the work.
- Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Keeping invoices and accounts is a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
Photos of our work
We photograph finished work to show on this website and on our social media. We only publish photos of your property with your agreement, and we avoid showing people, house numbers or anything that identifies the address. If you'd like a photo of your property removed, contact us and we'll take it down.
Reviews
If you give us a review, we publish it with your first name, surname and the type of work only if you've agreed. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
Website analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. This tells us things like pages visited, time on the page, device and browser type, and approximate location (town or region). We don't use it to identify you, and we have turned off Google's advertising features.
- Lawful basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations). You can withdraw it at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
Website hosting
Like any website, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep your data
- Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Customer records, quotes and invoices: 6 years after the job is finished, to meet tax record-keeping rules and in case of any claim about the work.
- Google Analytics data: [TO FILL: 2 or 14 months, matching the data retention setting in Google Analytics].
- Published photos and reviews: until you ask us to remove them.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data or share it for marketing. We only share it with the services we need to run the business:
- our email provider (Yahoo) and phone and messaging services, which carry our messages with you;
- Meta (Instagram and Facebook), if you contact us there;
- Google, for website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies;
- Microsoft Azure, which hosts this website;
- our accountant and HMRC, for invoices and tax records;
- anyone we are required to share it with by law.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or by contract terms approved by the Information Commissioner's Office.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted, where we no longer need to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email lcg.joinery@yahoo.com. We'll reply within one month. There is no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
We don't make decisions about you by automated means, and we don't use your data for profiling.
